Tom Waits was introduced to me by Joe Ferriss in 1995. I've loved every work and note that man has put together.
For this weeks "comic" I used "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" from the Bone Machine album. I usually get a lump in my throat when I hear this song. It hits me so hard. That maybe very silly to anyone who's heard it, but if you know, me I sort of live by this idea of not growing up. I vowed it to my grandmother VanCamp (RIP) when I was little and I don't want to give up on it.
Much like a bunch of my comics, the final idea comes to me out of nowhere. I knew this song was going to be the one I was going to use, but it dawned on my this morning to use kindergarten yearbook photos. I found a great page from a book online and it was perfect. There are even sentences next to them saying what they want to do when they grow up.
I hope it doesn't bum anyone out too much.
